Image Processing Projects

Abstract:

This Digital Image Processing Project introduces a novel and effective image prior, gamma correction prior (GCP), which leads to an efficient image dehazing method, IDGCP. The proposed IDGCP has the following steps.

The proposed GCP preprocesses hazy images to create homogeneous virtual transformations. Based on atmospheric scattering theory, the depth ratio is extracted from the hazy image and its virtual transformation.

Finally, a global-wise strategy and vision indicator restore the hazy image by recovering scene albedo. IDGCP uses the “global-wise” strategy to restore images without refining, reducing processing time and computation cost.

Experimentally validating IDGCP’s steps. IDGCP outperforms other technologies in restoration quality and implementation efficiency in a series of experiments on difficult images.
